Dry Infrared Sauna Now Available!

Infrared saunas are an effective tool for natural healing and prevention.  Infrared light has the ability to penetrate human tissue which in turn produces a host of anti-aging health benefits making infrared saunas one of the most popular therapies for overall healthier living.  If you want to get yourself back into balance, an infrared sauna may be the ticket to achieving your wellness goals.  Here are some of the health benefits of infrared sauna therapy:

Detoxification and Skin Purification

Sweating is the body’s safe and natural way to heal & stay healthy.  Far infrared heats the body directly causing a rise in core temperature resulting in a deep, detoxifying sweat at the cellular level, where toxins reside.

Relaxation

Unlike traditional saunas which operate at extremely high temperatures, infrared is a gentle, soothing and therapeutic heat that promotes relaxation and improved sleep.  Infrared sauna therapy helps you relax while receiving an invigorating deep tissue sweat, leaving you fully refreshed after each session.

Lower Blood Pressure

Infrared saunas induce a deep sweat to make the heart pump faster, which in turn increases blood flow, lowers blood pressure and helps circulation.  Scientific evidence shows that using an infrared sauna a couple times a week lowers blood pressure.

Cell Health

Infrared therapy stimulates the circulatory system and more fully oxygenates the body’s cells.  Better blood circulation means more toxins flow from the cellular level to the skin’s surface to improve cell health, aid in muscle recovery and strengthen the immune system.

Weight Loss

Studies have shown that a 30 minute infrared sauna session can burn upwards of 600 calories while you relax!  As the body works to cool itself, there is a substantial increase in heart rate, cardiac output and metabolic rate, causing the body to burn more calories.

Pain Relief

Infrared heat penetrates tissue, joints, and muscles to relieve anything from minor aches and pains to chronic pain conditions such as fibromyalgia.  Pain management professionals incorporate infrared heat therapy into treatment plans to decrease pain and muscle spasms and to speed up recovery time.

Improved Circulation

Heating the muscles with infrared rays produces an increase in blood flow similar to that seen during exercise.  Regular infrared sauna use can significantly stimulate blood flow up to twice the normal rate.

Sauna Tips, Recommendations & Requirements:

Recommended session times are 30-60 minutes, 20-35 minutes for beginners. Our sauna can fit two adults, or one person if a little more room to stretch out is desired.  The sauna comes with built-in speakers, so you can plug your MP3 player right into it. Feel free to read a book or magazine, or just sit back and relax.

Please remove perfumes, makeup, deodorant, dirt, oils and lotions on your body before entering sauna. These products can block your pores and limit perspiration, decreasing the effectiveness of your sauna session.

During the sauna session, we ask that guests wear shorts for men and shorts and a tank or sports bra for women, and to place towels on the bench seat, backrest and the floor to absorb perspiration and maintain cleanliness of the sauna. Dry saunas cannot be disinfected in the traditional way because these toxins would disrupt the detox process. Also, the building materials could be damaged. Only water can be used to clean the sauna interior.

Toweling off excessive perspiration throughout your session will help your body perspire more freely. Please bring towels from home. Guests are required to bring personal bath towels to sit on and dry off with.

Make sure you are adequately hydrated before, during and after your session. Guests are encouraged to bring their own personal water bottle. The room is booked in one-hour time slots so that each guest has time to change and dry off after their session. The temperature of the sauna reaches 140 degrees, but there is a control on the inside for guests to decrease the temperature if necessary. If at any time you feel lightheaded, open the door or vent to quickly cool down.
